It appears that although my height (174cm) has it’s advantages, like having long legs, it also has its disadvantages, like look like a bean when wearing a short dress with heels. This has always been challenging for me as I usually feel incomplete going out for a night on the town wearing flats. But this weekend, I showcased my ‘short dress, flat shoes’ style and I must admit, I liked it. Heels will always have a place in my closet and ‘my style’, but I have come to the conclusion that heels just don’t work for me in conjunction with short dresses.

Hot or Not – Patterned Tights
For quite some time now I have been apprehensive about patterned tights. They sort of scared me. But when I saw these tights with gorgeous dashes of blue, black, green and pink I just had to buy them. They are so easy to style, throw on a black tee, dress or knit and you’re good to go. They’re quirky, colourful and a bit of fun. I’m quite a fan. My vote is HOT.

For the Love of Loafers
I have never been a huge fan of any type of flat shoes unless they were thongs. Finding an ‘in-between’ shoe that I really liked wasn’t an easy task, that was until I found loafers. There’s not a lot I don’t love about them; their shape, texture, comfort and pretty much everything about them is right down my alley. I’m obsessed with a pair that I recently purchased from Portmans in Melbourne’s iconic Bourke St. I’m loving the mixture of their hairy (yep they’re hairy) and stud design. They’re perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Something stylish enough to add some ‘value’ to my outfit but also low-key enough to not overpower my overall style. Loafers are my new favourite staple in my wardrobe.
I’m Loving:
- Plain back loafers from Miss Shop
- The studs on these Lipstik pair
- Gorgeous suede from The Mode Collection
- The colour from Pied a Terre
- Patterns from Walnut Melbourne
- Stylish quilted finish by Nina Armando
