A little bit of Paradise

For the last two weeks I have been off soaking up the sun on a cruise of the beautiful pacific islands. No work, no phones and no internet. Just time to appreciate great company, great drinks and the little things that make life great.

Back to the normal schedule today and although my escape was amazing (boy was it amazing) It’s good to be back.

Concerts Love

Have you ever been to a concert that literally took your breath away, had the best time and realised at that moment that you were literally making a memory you would never forget? Last night was one of those moments for me. I was lucky enough to be at the front of Pink’s ‘Truth about Love’ Concert at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre. It was a million kinds of amazing. Her interaction with the audience, the dancing, the acrobatics, the fireworks (yes fireworks), the displays and of course the incredible music. By far the best concert I have been to. The atmosphere was incredible. Did I mention the “pink love” cocktails? What a night!

What’s the best concert you have ever been to?

I Locked My Heart in New York City

Screen Shot 2013-07-01 at 8.24.27 PM

Whenever I go on holidays I am all for finding interesting, quirky things that the city has to offer. New York was one of those cities that was full of them! However, I found the array of padlocks, locked together on the Brooklyn Bridge, particularly amazing. As soon as I saw them I went crazy with the camera taking snaps of the locks. Ten minutes later I finally noticed all the messages on the locks. It turns out that lovers from all across the world come to New York (and other love hotspots) to lock their hearts with a padlock and throw the key into the river. Apparently it is a sign of eternal love! How neat! I just love finding quirky trends in the cities I visit, especially romantic ones. I can’t lie, I’m a bit of a romantic and the idea of locking your heart in the city of love (and fashion), yep, it’s got my vote.

{Desert was a little bit of heaven}

Today, my boss (yes she can be fabulous) took us out for lunch. I work in a small office for a politician so it can be busy and often stressful. The last few weeks have been full on and we have been working super hard (doing extra hours and days) and today seemed like the perfect occasion for a break. We headed to C’est Bon, a cute little French restaurant in Woolloongabba. One of the things I enjoy most about going out to eat different cuisines is experiencing their culture. C’est Bon did not disappoint. The waitress greeted us with her gorgeous French accent; nothing feels more like France then a french accent. The interior design is cosy, warm and exactly what I imagined French cafes to look like. Even the toilets are somehow beautiful and designed with a French theme. Everything from the paintings to the chandeliers screamed France. The food; words cannot explain; it was incredible. With a delicious meal, a bottle of expensive champagne (the boss’s treat) and the sound of the French accents, you can just imagine yourself sitting staring out at the Eiffel Tower. The best way to start the weekend is to experience a little bit of France.

All the love in the world

As I have said before in a previous post I love taking photos. What I haven’t mentioned is that I love viewing photos (especially in gallery showcases) that others take and trying to interpret what they were trying to achieve or what they were thinking/feeling when they were taking the photograph. I also love books; not the story kinds but the picture books, love letters, DIYs, quotes (really anything with short and sweet content on a particular subject). So when I came across the photo book All The Love In The World I just had to buy it. Before I bought it, I was flipping through and was taken back by the gorgeous photography. I had no idea what the idea behind the photography was until I got home and read the back inside page of what the book was about. Turns out the author, Jesse Hunter was a fashion, graphic design and multimedia design graduate who got sick of living the ordinary life and quit his design job and took off on a journey with his partner Mikala. Jesse travelled through 44 countries for 650 days and photographed love hearts everywhere. You can learn more about the book and hear from the author in this video. All The Love In The World is an amazing, completely visual book. Great story, great pictures, great meaning.

“On an epic journey of 650 days, in 44 countries, on 6 continents I photographed love hearts to bring everybody ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD” {Jesse Hunter}.
