For quite some time now I have been apprehensive about patterned tights. They sort of scared me. But when I saw these tights with gorgeous dashes of blue, black, green and pink I just had to buy them. They are so easy to style, throw on a black tee, dress or knit and you’re good to go. They’re quirky, colourful and a bit of fun. I’m quite a fan. My vote is HOT.
Have you ever been to a concert that literally took your breath away, had the best time and realised at that moment that you were literally making a memory you would never forget? Last night was one of those moments for me. I was lucky enough to be at the front of Pink’s ‘Truth about Love’ Concert at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre. It was a million kinds of amazing. Her interaction with the audience, the dancing, the acrobatics, the fireworks (yes fireworks), the displays and of course the incredible music. By far the best concert I have been to. The atmosphere was incredible. Did I mention the “pink love” cocktails? What a night!
There is something about pink lips. No matter the season, no matter the occasion, no matter the shade, they look beautiful. Maybe it’s something about pink being a very feminine, kissable colour, it just works. It’s one of those shades I reach for all year round, whether I’m going out for lunch, shopping with my mum or a night on the town with the girls. It’s so versatile and glamorous. I love wearing pink to break up dark shaded outfits. It gives it that bounce of cheerfulness. Perfect to spruce up your look and accentuate your face when your outfit is dressed down. I picked up my latest shade ‘baby doll’ from Kmart for under $5 (and it’s long-lasting wear too). In my opinion, you can never go wrong with pink lippy.
There is no denying my life long addiction to Jimmy Choo, although I have never had the pleasure of owning a pair of his shoes. So this year, when I was in LA, I couldn’t help but visit the beautiful store in Rodeo Drive. It’s safe to say I was like a little girl in a candy store (a very expensive candy store). Not only did the sparkling shoes take my breath away, but so did the store. It’s all kinds of magnificent. I expected it to be great – it’s an expensive place after all. But I have never been into a store so beautiful and perfectly neat, from the racks to the floors to the shop assistants. I didn’t dare try anything on (which was a battle in itself). Yep, owning a pair of Jimmy Choo’s is definitely on the bucket list.
Let me just say I am obsessed with glitter and sequins. I love how their sparkle can liven up almost anything and give it a new look. Recently I went to a fashion boutique in Paddington which featured a gorgeous vase that incorporated pretty bright flowers (fresh or fake) in a water bottle vase with a sparkle of sequins. It’s easy to do and it’s a real attention grabbing piece to add to any area of your home.
To do it yourself you will need : water bottle vase – under $5 at Ikea, a packet of sequins – available at most discount and craft stores less than $3 and a bunch of flowers – fresh or fake.
Add the packet of sequins to the vase and fill the vase with water – close the lid and shake;
Slowly empty the water holding your finger partly over the vase opening to ensure the sequins do not come away with the water;
Once the water is emptied, close the lid and shake again to spread the sequins around;
